Abstract
This article examines the rupture with the scholarly method demanded by the institutional teaching of contemporary music. After studying different pedagogical trends in self-learning music schools, I shall demonstrate by using the example of two different teaching methods, that they do not in fact question the fundamentals of the formal music learning theory.
