Abstract

This study investigates the discrepancy between discourse and practice of sustainability in a big corporation. The discourse of sustainability are increasingly on the agenda in organizations, however, is still seen a high number of greenwashers. In this study, was adopted a qualitative study, based on primary and secondary data, which aimed to analyze a multinational organization which operates in more than 35 countries. Data were collected through documents available in the company's site, news that came out in the press and also four interviews were conducted with other employees/trainees of the organization. It was concluded that the organization's sustainability policies have certain flaws, and thereby directly reflected in the organization speech and what, effectively, it do in practice. To mitigate and address these gaps were suggested alternatives. The concepts of sustainability, allied to other social responsibility practices, should be widely disseminated within the organization so that all employees can be engaged to carry out these actions.
