This study aimed to investigate the interfaces of playfulness in the context of five physical activities groups provided in health centers of Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. Were made some systematic observations during two months in the groups, and were conducted structured interviews with Physical Education professionals and with 22 participants. The results indicate that, despite the predominance of content and traditional methods, which aim to promote physical health of participants, there is room for play activities, although in a punctual way, either through jokes performed inside the classes and along to the practice of exercises, either in special occasions like celebrations of festive dates and tours. It is observed that a health environment linked to the playful perspective is still under construction, especially regarding the appropriation of playful as an object of intervention by professionals, since the participants recognize it as a important element for their motivation and permanence in the group.
