Abstract

This study examined the influence of a small-scale service learning experience on engineering undergraduates. The aim of this study is to test the potential of service learning to develop social responsibilities, soft-skill competencies, engineering design self-efficacy and risk attitude of engineering students. Our results suggested that conducting a service learning flood risk reduction initiative increase learning and help to develop the necessary hard and soft skills to address community needs.
