Abstract
This study examines the project of open space in the Osaka Amenity Park (OAP), a privately owned public space, in relation to open spaces in the same neighborhood to help future concepts in design and urban planning. Spatial configuration and use were researched by mean of questionnaires and interviews with inhabitants. With a focus on the respondents' habits of use, the context and concrete features of open spaces were analyzed. Also a regular characteristic among respondents was detected in a comparison of distances from their homes to open spaces. (author abst.)
