Abstract
Rapid propagation of the thornless blackberries ( Rubus sp.) ‘Smoothstem’ and US 64-39-2 was achieved by culturing shoot tips in a modified Murashige and Skoog medium containing benzyladenine (BA), gibberellic acid (GA 3 ) and indolebutyric acid (IBA). Shoots were explanted into liquid culture and then transferred to an agar medium for rapid shoot proliferation. “Minicuttings” from shoot-masses were rooted in vitro or directly in peat pellets under mist after auxin treatment.
