Abstract

The focus of this text is on the emotional needs of children in violent contexts, as either victims or perpetrators of crime. A detailed account is provided of the establishment of a collaborative comunity programme in New Haven, Connecticut, between community police officers and mental health workers, Jointly working with traumatised chilren at the point of crisis.
