Abstract

Natuna is one of the islands include in the sovereignty of Indonesian Republic. It is based on UNCLOS 1982 and Indonesia's law. The disputes that occured between the goverment of Indonesia and China were caused by China mistreating the sovereignty of Indonesian Republic.so, under various excuses China trying to make Natuna as its territory. It is clear that Indonesia uses rules that have been recognized by the United Nations and had been ratified by Indonesian goverment, while China is based on the nine dash line which is the line of their imagination that has no international legal power. The purpose of this study is to ensure that the rules which have been approved by UN Members and strengthened by laws issued by the Indonesian government are implemented properly. The method used is a qualitative method. The data collecting method were by interviews, observations and documentation. The results of this study are the sovereign Indonesian Republic which has been recognized by the United Nations can be implemented and maintained properly
