Abstract

(Cyanomethylene)tributylphosphorane (CMBP), which promoted the alkylation of various nucleophiles (HA) with alcohols (ROH) to give RA (Mitsunobu-type reaction), was prepared in two steps starting from chloroacetonitrile. © 2005 Pharmaceutical Society of Japan.
