Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the optimal fractional composition of aggregates for self-compacting concrete, provided that the maximum bulk density and particle packing density were achieved. The main results of the study are to determine the fractional composition of aggregates for self-compacting concrete, designed for structures with high performance properties. To solve the formulated problem, mathematical methods of planning an active experiment were used, namely, a simplex-lattice plan. It was found that the mixture has the maximum bulk density, consisting of: coarse aggregate (crushed stone) fraction 5-10 mm -48%; enriched fine aggregate (coarse sand) of a fraction of 0.16-5 mm -16%; fine aggregate (fine sand) fractions of 0.16-0.63 mm -36%. In this case, the maximum bulk density and packing density of the particles of the aggregate mixture were 1840 kg/m3 and 0.82, respectively. The significance of the results of the work for the construction industry lies in establishing the optimal ratio of the mixture of aggregates, which allows obtaining self-compacting concrete with high physical and technical properties.
