Abstract

Dairy farming in Turkey is under risk for sustainability due to high input costs and low milk price. It is possible to reduce the barriers to sustainability by using alternative methods. One of these methods is effective supply chain management that has been applied successfully in many areas. The aim of this study is to evaluate the supply chain management of dairy farming. In this study, supply chain management has been addressed and supply chain management in dairy farms has been evaluated based on statistical data and results of studies have been done before. It was determined that limited business capital and low educational level constrains effective supply chain management. Furthermore, the scientific literature on the topic is not enough. Research projects on the subject of supply chain management of dairy farming should be supported and project results should be shared with producers by extension activities.
