Abstract

Discretely tunable optical delay lines using serial and step-chirped sidewall Bragg gratings in SOI are demonstrated. Delays of up to 60 ps (28 ps) in steps of 20 ps (14 ps) spanning bandwidths of 53 nm (33 nm) are obtained for serial (step-chirped) gratings. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2013.
