Abstract

Web of Science is a famous database used to analyze the literature cited. Scopus was announced in 2004, as the competitor to this database. Each of these databases has different feature; however, there has been scarce information on evaluation of the functions of these databases. This research was conducted by the authors who belong to two different companies, focusing on basic comparisons of the functions of both databases and characteristics of search engines. For the first part of article, we actually retrieved the articles by using several keywords specific in the life science field, and analyzed the result. Adapted from the source document.
