Abstract
Cf/SiC composite was brazed to Ti-alloy by using interlayer of Ag-Cu-Ti-C mixed powder. Microstructure and both the room temperature and 500°C shear strengths of the brazed joint were investigated. In situ synthesized TiC x (x ≤ 1) is formed in the brazing layer of the joint by the reaction of C and Ti in the brazing layers and provides good reinforcement and alleviation of the joint thermal stress. © 2006 The Japan Institute of Metals.
