Abstract
The oldest legitimate name for the Chilean conifer Lleuque, Podocarpus spicatus, is reinstated. The subsequent assignment of this taxon to the genus Prumnopitys is accepted, and the new combination Prumnopitys spicata is made. Where possible, previous names applied to this taxon are typified. © 1999 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
