Abstract

Objective: to present the results of the construction and psychometric analysis of the Scale "Quality Assurance Processes in the Operative Block (PQABO Scale)". Method: it is a study of methodological design for the development and test of the reliability and validity of measurement instruments. The scale is composed of 17 items and was applied through an online questionnaire to doctors and nurses with activities in the operating room. Results: The psychometric study allowed us to affirm that scale is a reliable and valid instrument composed of four factors: communication flows; strategies to support care work processes; control for safety and teamwork. The results obtained in the reliability tests reveal a good internal consistency for the total of the scale items. The Cronbach alpha value of the whole scale was 0.845 which suggests a good internal consistency of the instrument. Final Considerations: the final version of the scale demonstrates psychometric properties to measure the quality processes in the operative block, as well as their use will allow to evaluate and monitor the work processes in the operative blocks.
