Abstract
Canker symptoms at the base of stems and brown exudates were observed in watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) plants collected in the Formoso Project, Tocantins State. Didymella bryoniae and its anamorph Ascochyta cucumis are described and illustrated for the first time in Brazil. The pathogenicity of several isolates was confirmed by artificial inoculation.
