Abstract

A design of wireless monitoring system based on CAN bus and ZigBee technology of tower crane has been proposed according to characteristics of the traditional safety monitoring system of tower crane and defects of cable transmission system in this paper. The application of CAN bus and ZigBee technology meets requirements of function and performance and also accomplishs the modular design of software/hardware system in wireless monitoring system of tower crane. It provides a new method to design the wireless monitoring system of tower crane. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
