Abstract

This paper reviews four serine protease inhibitors and three protease gene defects that are associated with allergic conditions, suggesting an important role for these genes and their products in the development of allergy. Serine protease inhibitors may have a therapeutic potential in the treatment of allergy. © 2006 The Authors.
