Abstract

Although disseminated intravascular coagulation is a well-recognized potential complication of neoplasia in dogs, recurrent localized thrombosis also is possible. Thrombosis results from poorly controlled or inappropriate coagulation, and any imbalance between factors influencing clot development and factors influencing clot dissolution can result in thrombosis.
