PENGETAHUAN MAHASISWA AKADEMI FARMASI JEMBER TERHADAP SWAMEDIKASI SEDIAAN FARMASI BENZOIL PEROKSIDA PADA JERAWAT

Abstract

Self-medication is an effort made by the community in curing the disease they are suffering from. One of the diseases is acne. Acne is a skin disease that is caused due to blockage and inflammation of the skin. One of the drugs used in self-medication for acne is benzoyl peroxide. Self-medication should not be carried out using any drug, the drugs used in self-medication are over-the-counter medicines, limited-free medicines and mandatory medicines from pharmacies. The purpose of this study was to know the knowledge of Jember Pharmacy Academy Students on benzoyl peroxide self-medication in acne. The research method used is descriptive method with cross sectional design. Samples were calculated using the Slovin formula and obtained 85 samples from 471 populations. The results of the study of the knowledge description of the Jember Pharmacy Academy students towards self-medication of benzoyl peroxide pharmaceutical preparations in acne, showed a percentage of 95.14% which was in the good category.
