Abstract

This paper presents intelligent control approaches for regulating the level of steam drum. Drum level control systems are widely used in industrial process applications. The inverse response of the boiler drum cannot regulate the feed water level. Therefore advanced control strategies are necessary for the system to perform accurately and efficiently. This paper demonstrate the optimized performance of Internal Model Control(IMC) and Lead-Lag Internal Model Control(Lead-Lag IMC)with disturbance in boiler drum level process in terms of transient response characteristics.
