Abstract
This paper investigates the asymptotic stability of a new coupling to a thermoelastic Timoshenko-type system with memory. The memory term acts on the shear force in the evolution equations. We establish the well-posedness result for the system. Furthermore, we prove a general decay result for the solution energy. Interestingly, our stability result is obtained without imposing the condition of equal-wave speed.
