Abstract
Examination of a number of herbarium specimens of Myrsine kermadecensis suggests that the species is gynodioecious. Pistillate flowers have a functional pistil and reduced non-functional anthers that lack pollen. Bisexual flowers have functional anthers with copious, viable pollen, and a functional pistil. The size of the corolla differs, with the bisexual flowers being slightly larger. © 1998 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
