Abstract

Magnetic heads made of Sendust alloy head cores (Fe-9. 6 wt% Si-5. 4 wt% Al) have superior magnetic properties and wear resistance. Plastic deformability was investigated by compressive tests at temperatures between room temperature and 1173 K and at various strain rates. The results suggest that polycrystalline material may be deformable under suitable conditions.
