Abstract

In this study, we report the synthesis of gold and cerium oxide nanoparticles from the aqueous extract of punica granatum fruit. The synthesized nanoparticles are characterized by analytical techniques such as UV-visible absorption spectrometry; X-ray diffraction spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The biocompatible nature of biogenic nanoparticles is studied on L929 normal fibroblast cell lines. Furthermore, the antifungal potential of as fabricated nanoparticles is portrayed through two fungal species and possesses significant fungicidal effect, which provides promising approach for alternative nano-drug development.
