Abstract

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) equipped with photogrammetry has a significant impact on sustainability. Despite the advances in construction equipment and management techniques to control the complexity and dynamic nature of toll road projects, the documentation of changes which occur on site remains a prevalent issue. This research is concerned in the visualization techniques for progress monitoring that illustrates progress deviations through superimposition of four-dimensional as-planned model on surface models. The results from the digital survey into BIM Authoring Tools followed by the identification of BIM elements through surface modelling. The analysis is conducted using the parameter of the volume of land cuts and fills to quantify deviations. The data retrieved from UAV drones enriched with geospatial parameters proved to provide reliable construction records, allowing greater control of construction progress. The proposed methodology may ultimately allow project participants to adjust schedule and allocate resources in a more precise manner.
