Abstract

This article examines the nature of cluster patterns of firms and establishments that belong to the creative industry. An exploratory analysis of spatial distribution is performed highlighting the importance of cluster forms and their concentration in the Monterrey Metropolitan Area (mma). By using spatial statistical techniques, clusters of firms were Sdetermined according to their size and economic activity. The results allow identifying spatial clusters of firms that are not randomly distributed, but show a strong pattern of concentration in the central area of the urban space. This study contributes to a better understanding about creative urban spaces and provides a source of information for the formulation of public policies aimed at forging innovative knowledge-based sectors.
