Abstract

In waste management, recent global practices are shifting the attention toward utilization of landfill gas generation and the deployment of bioreactors. This puts emphasis on the internal processes of bioreactor landfill and the analysis of slope stability of such landfills. We examined bioreactor landfills stability with respect to degradation. Our model divided the waste body into five layers according to the degree of decomposition. Three di_erent geometries were simulated. We used PLAXIS and GEOSLOPE program in our simulations then we compared their results. © Periodica Polytechnica 2011.
