Abstract
Indonesia is an agrarian country with extraordinary natural wealth, fertile land plains become one of the factors of the many professions of farmers in Indonesia. The agricultural sector can contribute greatly to the economic development in Indonesia, but unfortunately the limitations of farmers in processing their agricultural production is the cause of the lack of maximum production process carried out. Agricultural development is a process to be able to increase agricultural production, the main purpose of the agricultural development process is to improve the quality of agricultural production that will impact the income of farmers the success rate of the extension communication process is the extent to which farmers can receive and apply the innovations provided. The study was conducted in Kedungsugo village with a population of 160 farmers with a sample of 38 farmers. This study used likert scale and multiple linear regression. The results of the study on the characteristics of farmers showed that the majority of farmers are men aged 15-65 years have the most education level at the high school level with farming experience 30-35 years and the average land area of 0.5 - <1ha, as well as the results of multiple liner regression test with age variables (X1), Formal education (X2), farming experience (X3), Land Area (X4) on the effectiveness of Extension Communication (Y) together or simultaneously affect the effectiveness of communication.
