Abstract
Abstract: This article analyzes significations constructed by different social actors regarding the use and regulation of lethal violence in two working-class neighborhoods in the city of Santa Fe, Argentina. Based on in-depth interviews, participatory research, official records and news records, this article examines how State agencies -mainly the police- and the local media define and make visible most of these deaths through using the category of settling of vendettas. Besides, it inquires how the young protagonists of these situations paradoxically define them in a very similar way. Lastly, it analyzes how the different representations of these uses and regulations influence their most immediate configuration.
