Abstract

As part of the celebration of 2015 as the International Year of Soils, a review of the current status of soil science is presented, in particular on the future challenges of this discipline, such as the !ght against hunger, the improvement of quality of life, and the need for increasing scienti!c understanding of our environment. "e most recent contributions of soil science o#ering interesting prospects are also presented.
