Abstract

Several photochemistry field studies that included OH measurements have been conducted in the past few years. Two of these studies were also informal OH intercomparisons. As a result of thse studies there have been several comparisons of measured OH concentrations to those predicted by models. While models sometimes predict OH concentrations that are in reasonably good agreement with measurements, under the majority of measurement scenarios models seem to overpredict OH concentrations. The results of a few such measurement-model comparisons are discussed, and a search for additional tropospheric OH sinks is proposed. -Author
