Abstract
This classroom action research was raised from a problem where, based on a diagnostic assessment, grade IV students made mathematics an objectionable subject. In addition, when the researcher became the PTS supervisor, there were students in grade IV who asked questions about the geometric shapes of blocks and cubes, but called them square in length. Based on these problems, the reason for the researcher to conduct classroom action research. SDN Golan 01 is the place for the research. The subjects in this study totaled 13 students and it was carried out in early March to mid-May 2023. The design used was Classroom Action Research using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods. Data obtained through the results of the value by measuring learning, student competence using evaluation tests and product assessments, as well as student activity using observation sheets. This class action research aims to increase understanding of the concept of blocks and cubes through the use of concrete media in project-based learning. This study obtained the results of an increase in student learning activity of 7.69%, student learning success increased by 15.38%, while in the assessment of project results there was an increase of 23.26% from initially incomplete to complete. Learning activities in each cycle were carried out well with an increase of 2.71%. Thus the use of media contained in Project Based Learning can provide an increase in understanding the concept of blocks and cubes material.
