"Die mit den Zeichen tanzen": Ein Beitrag zum Verhältnis von Informationstechnischer Bildung und Medienerziehung

Abstract

Die Diskussion um das Verhältnis von informationstechnischer Bildung und Medienerziehung ist zuweilen stärker von einem disziplinären denn von einem interdisziplinären Verständnis geprägt. Auf der Seite der Informatik herrscht die Befürchtung um eine Verwässerung ihrer Inhalte durch ‹Schmalfilmer›, auf der Seite der Medienpädagogik wird betont, dass eine Verkürzung von Medienkompetenz auf Anwenderfertigkeiten oder technisches Detailwissen zu kurz greift. Professionspolitisch ist es sicherlich angemessen, sich auf das Technische bzw. Informatische oder eben das Pädagogische zu konzentrieren, die Medienwelt selbst erfordert jedoch interdisziplinäre Zugänge. Um nicht Gefahr zu laufen, den Bildungswert einer Auseinandersetzung mit Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien nur auf Plausibilitätsniveau zu begründen, ist zunächst eine theoriebezogene Diskussion notwendig. Auf dieser Grundlage kann dann auch begründet über Zusammenführungen oder Abgrenzungen von und zwischen Informationstechnischer Bildung und Medienerziehung gesprochen werden. Der Beitrag entwirft eine solche Theoriebasis und bezieht diese auf mögliche Bildungswerte.The discussion about the relationship between information technology education and media education is sometimes characterised more by a disciplinary than an interdisciplinary understanding. On the side of computer science, there is a fear that its contents will be watered down by 'narrow filmmakers'; on the side of media education, it is emphasised that a reduction of media competence to user skills or detailed technical knowledge falls short. In terms of professional policy, it is certainly appropriate to concentrate on the technical or informatic or even the pedagogical, but the media world itself requires interdisciplinary approaches. In order not to run the risk of justifying the educational value of dealing with information and communication technologies only on a plausibility level, a theory-based discussion is first necessary. On this basis, it is then possible to talk in a well-founded way about mergers or demarcations of and between information technology education and media education. This article develops such a theoretical basis and relates it to possible educational values.
