Abstract

The invention relates to thioether derivs. of formula I and their prepn., useful as protein kinase inhibitors for the treatment, relief and/or prevention of diseases assocd. with abnormal and hyper-proliferation of cells in a mammal, esp. cancer in humans. Compds. of formula I, in which X is N and CH; Y is NH, S, and O; Z is N and CH; R1 is (un)substituted aryl and heteroaryl; R2 is (un)substituted alkyl, aryl, and heteroaryl; Q is H and (un)substituted amino group; n is 0 - 2; or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, are claimed. Example compd. II was prepd. by coupling of 4-chloro-6-(4-fluorophenyl)thieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine and 5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thiol. Invention compds. were evaluated for their protein kinase inhibitory activity (data given). [on SciFinder(R)]
