Abstract
This research provides important information on the role of values to prevent and reduce violence in adolescent couples in cross-cultural contexts. This is a qualitative investigation, which addresses the perceptions of mothers and social and educational professionals about the dating violence and its negative impact on the psycho-emotional and physical well-being of adolescents. The results indicate the value acquired by educational programs for the primary prevention of violence in adolescent dating. Also, the protective effect of both parental support and healthy communication between parents and children as well as the promotion of civic skills are highlighted. Therefore, the transmission of positive values is a shared responsibility between family, school and society. In addition, educating in good values is essential and indispensable to promote non-violent and egalitarian relationships in new cross cultural contexts.
