Abstract

This work presents the result of the experience of applying a learning object with themes related to scientific research and information literacy. It is based on the concepts of the Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education of the Association of College and Research Libraries and the components of UNESCO's Global Media and Information Literacy Framework and the theory of teaching of competencies from Zabala and Arnau. The learning object is the result of a professional masters research that aims for investigation, propagation and insertion of the information literacy themes in the curriculum of postgraduate courses. It presents conceptual aspects about information literacy and Framework´s considerations. It uses action research as a technical procedure and has as research subject, students of professional masters of a federal institute of education. Reports the result of the analysis of questionnaires applied before and after the learning object use. It concludes that there was a change of opinion of the subjects about the use of resources and tools in scientific research and that the learning object was considered of great utility for the improvement of the research activities.
