Abstract
The article discusses the relationship between the U.S. military and the country's academic institutions in regard with campus recruitment. The author examines the causes for the Reserve Officer's Training Corps' (ROTC) exit from prominent academic institutions in the late 1960s and early 1970s including Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The author analyzes the strategies that may ensure the military's access to the premier institutes for soldiers' recruitment.
