Abstract

The article discusses the concept of innovation and the role of Technological Innovation Agency (TIA) in promoting innovative efforts in South Africa. It states that joining the emerging relationships betwen Brazil, China, Russia and India (BCRI) is an opportunity sought by the region to align with the innovation promotion mandate of TIA. It notes the major challenge facing TIA as a facilitating body which closes the gap between the main producer of knowledge and the social entrepreneurs.
