Abstract

In this study, the numerical analyses of the local stresses and strains in the course of loading of changing tensile stress of the butt welded joints made of the S235JRG2 steel, in which the existence of two welding imperfections: an individual permissible gas pore having the number: 2011, and permissible concavity of the face of weld having the number: 511, was ascertained. The joint was made with the application of the MAG method without preliminary heating. The numerical analyses were conducted with the application of the developed spatial mathematical model upon the basis of the finite element method, and with the application of the program, ANSYS-3D. The analysis made it possible to determine the areas having the largest concentration of stresses, in which, in certain conditions, they are locally exceeded, and cracks are generated in the welded joint.
