Abstract

Indicators of a successful dairy cattle business are highly dependent on the management of the farmer. The better the management, the better the performance of dairy cattle in terms of quantity and quality produced. The purpose of this activity is to provide knowledge about good dairy cattle management for millennial farmers in West Java who have new businesses and one or two years of farming experience. The activity was held in September which was attended by 100 millennial farmers from various districts in West Java such as Bogor, Bekasi, Bandung, Purwakarta, Garut, Ciamis, Tasikmalaya, Kuningan, Cianjur, Sukabumi, Sumedang and Pangandaran located in Lembang, West Bandung Regency. The stages of the activity include pre-test, presentation, monitoring, and post-test. The results showed that counseling with dairy cow management materials, especially knowledge of reproductive aspects during the pre-test, answered the questions correctly 40% while the post-test answered correctly 100%. Knowledge of the feed aspect of the pre-test answered the questions correctly 46% while the post-test answered 100% correctly. Then the results of the pre-test in the knowledge section of the question management aspect were correct 48% while the post-test answered correctly 100% There was an increase in knowledge and understanding of dairy cattle business management among millennial farmers in West Java starting from understanding the management of reproductive aspects (breeding), feeding, management and subsequent actions result in changes that affect the quantity and quality of dairy cattle produced.
