Abstract

Unwarranted fears about drug safety during lactation may result in non-compliance with maternal drug therapy, failure to initiate breastfeeding, or unnecessary cessation of breastfeeding.[1,2] Given the well established benefits of breastfeeding, it is imperative that health professionals have a sound understanding of drug safety during this period.
