Abstract

Although some landscape features are definitely related to humid tropical climates, many other features commonly attributed to the tropics can be formed in other climates. The alleged lack of erosion by tropical rivers, because weathering destroys the pebbles needed for abrasion, is untrue. Many distinctive features of the tropical landscape result from a long geomorphic history with many climatic changes, because the humid tropics escaped Quaternary glaciation. -Author
