PEMBENTUKAN KARAKTER SOSIAL BERBASIS TRADISI ROBO-ROBO MASYARAKAT MELAYU MEMPAWAH

Abstract

Tradisi Robo-Robo Masyarakat Melayu Mempawah merupakan ritual tolak bala yang dilaksanakan setiap tahun pada hari Rabu terakhir bulan Safar. Tradisi ini mencerminkan nilai-nilai sosial dan budaya yang kuat, seperti gotong royong dan penghormatan terhadap alam. Melalui ritual ini, masyarakat memohon keselamatan dan keberkahan, serta memperkuat ikatan sosial di antara mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pembentukan karakter sosial yang berbasis tradisi Robo-Robo, serta dampaknya terhadap identitas budaya masyarakat Melayu Mempawah. Peneliti menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif untuk memberikan gambaran yang mendalam mengenai makna dan nilai tradisi robo-robo pada Masyarakat Mempawah. Secara keseluruhan, tradisi Robo-Robo memengaruhi sifat sosial Masyarakat Melayu Mempawah. Tradisi ini membantu membangun masyarakat yang lebih harmonis, berbudaya, dan peduli terhadap lingkungan dengan mengedepankan prinsip-prinsip kebersamaan, penghormatan, dan rasa tanggung jawab. The Robo-Robo tradition of the Mempawah Malay Community is a ritual of rejecting evil which is carried out every year on the last Wednesday of the month of Safar. This tradition reflects strong social and cultural values, such as mutual cooperation and respect for nature. Through this ritual, people ask for safety and blessings, as well as strengthening social ties between them. This research aims to explore the formation of social character based on the Robo-Robo tradition, as well as its impact on the cultural identity of the Mempawah Malay community. Researchers used qualitative research with descriptive methods to provide an in-depth picture of the meaning and value of the robo-robo tradition in the Mempawah Community. Overall, the Robo-Robo tradition influences the social nature of the Mempawah Malay Community. This tradition helps build a society that is more harmonious, cultured and cares for the environment by prioritizing the principles of togetherness, respect and a sense of responsibility.
