Abstract
To challenge the contrary effects of housing activities on the environment, sustainable housing has appeared as the controlling and encouraged paradigm of development in the building sector. Thus, this paper focused on assessing the impact of stakeholders on the performance of sustainable housing projects. Structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 259 stakeholders involved in sustainable housing projects in Lagos State, Nigeria. A total of 203 responses were obtained, representing 78% response rate. Primary data regarding the impact of Stakeholders on the performance of sustainable housing were collected. The data collected were analysed using Mean ranking analysis and stakeholders mapping. The findings of the study were synthesized to formulate structural equation models that provide a comprehensive guide on the impact of stakeholders on the performance of sustainable housing projects in the study area. The study concluded that Government and Project Managers have key roles to play as major stakeholders in the delivery of sustainable housing projects in terms of delivery within the agreed period of time, delivery within the budgeted cost, to the right and approved quality and ensuring efficient energy usage in the building.
