Abstract

Placental tissue and inner mesocarp cells cease dividing 10 days after full bloom, whereas hypodermis and epidermis cells continued to divide until 33 days after bloom, the same day seeds attained their final size, which also marked the end of stage I of berry growth (stage 2 = lag phase).
