Preparation of a Map of Leading Food Commodities in the Lampung Province Using the Location Quotient (LQ) Method

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to map food commodities that are superior in the Lampung Province. The mapping will be analyzed using the Location Quotient (LQ) method, which will produce classification about base commodities or non-basic commodities. The data used is secondary data on food crop production in Lampung Province for five years (2016-2020) obtained from the Central Statistics Agency and the Agriculture Service. The results showed that two types of food crops became the leading commodity in LQ values greater than 1, namely corn and rice, with LQ values of 1.23 for corn and 1.12 for rice, respectively.
