Research on the halal supply chain: A bibliometric analysis

Abstract

The consumer's character is significant in determining the concept and industry strategy employed. An effective method for evaluating such matters is analyzing identifiable market segments based on trust. Contemporary adherents of Islam are currently undergoing significant progress, as they strongly embrace the concept of halal across various domains of life. Within the industrial realm, implementing the halal concept in the supply chain requires further investigation. Hence, this study aims to perform a bibliometric analysis of twenty years of research on the halal supply chain. The methodology entails bibliometric analysis utilizing network models, overlay, and density analyses. The tools utilized include VOSviewer and Publish or Perish. The research findings indicate that scientific articles were the prevailing type of paper, comprising 98 papers. The most productive journals typically study Islamic law and the halal supply chain. Extensive research was conducted on the halal supply chain in 2020. However, the least studied topics include blockchain technology and sustainability.
