Abstract
(Chemical Equation Presented) An anionic dilithium compound: The dianion [(R2Si)3Li4]2- (R = tBu 2MeSi) as salt 2 was synthesized as the first of its kind by dissolving 1 in THF. The structure of 2 was solved by X-ray crystallography and studied by solid-state and solution NMR spectroscopy. Compound 2 reacts as a dilithiosilane. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
